For any of you who watch American Idol you will know that every year they have famous singers come and sit with judges to critique the contestants. They only appear after the top 12 have been picked. Some of the great artists that we can expect to see this year is Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani, Tony Bennett, Diana Ross, and Bon Jovi.
When I went to visit my grandparents I used to love to look at their collection of music records. I was always in awe that people went from listening of off those big things to listening off of small cd’s. Looking at them made me think of how old they were and how antiquish they would become. But, they’re not as retro as we might think.
Enya was born May 17, 1961, and spent her childhood in Gweedore (a County Donegal, situated in the north-west of Ireland) amongst nine brothers and sisters. While she was at school, Enya studied the piano and classical music. Three of her brothers and sisters formed, together with their uncles a folk music group, at first with a certain American feel and then more purely Irish, though influenced by jazz and by others such as Pentangle.
There are many instruments out there that are very well known. For example we all know the piano, guitar, saxophone, flute, and many more. But there are some instruments that we have never heard before. partly because very few people use them and partly because they are no longer being used.
