Jimmy Hendrix

James Marshall Hendrix was born in Seattle, Washington in 1942. Hendrix grew up listening to his father’s collection of blues and rhythm-and-blues (R&B) records and showed a keen interest in the guitar from a young age. After dropping out of high school he spent a short time in the United States Army as a paratrooper in the late 1950s and early 1960s, but he quit the military to pursue a musical career. Something that he beleived was his calling.

Country Week At American Idol

This week in American Idol was an interesting and dramatic one. The show began in a subdued mood, with Ryan giving “our thoughts and prayers” to all the people that were affected by the Virginia Tech tragedy.

However, the hush didn’t last long. The crowd is fired up. They really, really love their Top 7 Finalists. Not only do they boo Simon a lot throughout the night, but the angry horde also turns on Miss Paula. They boo loudly during her critique of LaKisha’s shouting.

Sheryl Crow Tours For Global Warming

Sheryl Crow is riding on a bus that uses biodiesel fuel and is on an 11-stop college tour to raise awareness about global warming. Laurie David, the Grammy-winning singer is joining her. David won the Oscar for best documentary when she produced “An Inconvenient Truth”, a film on climate change.

Justin Timberlake Complains About Gossip Mags

Justin Timberlake is fed up with all of the celebrity magazines turning his life upside down. “I despise what they do,” the 26-year-old singer tells Details magazine in an interview in its April issue. “They create soap operas out of people’s lives. It’s a spin game, and I choose not to take part in it.”
