Mariah Carey is using her money and many talents to help those who have a hard time helping themselves. The singer is the newest Global Hunger Ambassador for the Yum! Foundation’s World Hunger Relief Campaign. Starting September 25th Mariah will be using her voice to encourage her fans from around the world to pick up a coded card at one of the 36,000 restaurants belonging to Yum.

These restaurants include; Pizza Hut, KFC, Long John Silver’s, Taco Bell, and A&W. The card allows fans to download her new song “Love Story” from her newest album “E=MC2”. Yum will donate $.25 for every download to the Hunger Relief campaign. These donations will go to help raise money for the World Food Program at the United Nation’s.

But that isn’t all that she is doing these days. Mariah will be producing a big screen musical that will be based on her holiday album “Merry Christmas”.

“Since I recorded the Christmas album, I’ve always wanted to make a movie to go with it, something that people could watch and hear and enjoy every year,” Mariah told the NY Daily News. “I’m into it. I’m all about the holiday season.” The plot centers around a developer who wants to turn a small town into a shopping center.

“Mariah doesn’t want to let that happen,” her producing partner Benny Medina told the paper. “Her character uses song and love to keep the Christmas spirit alive.” “High School Musical” writer Peter Barsocchini is reportedly writing the script.
