Tim McGraw is furious at his record company for releasing a greatest hits-collection of his best songs with his “endorsement or involvement”. He complained last week that ‘Curb’ (his only label since his debut in 1993) ignored his wishes to wait until he had finished and album full of new songs – which he says he has been working on for more then a year. Instead they chose to release a third volume of his greatest hits to “extend his recording contract term.”
“Sure, I love the songs and I don’t want to take anything away from all the creative people who were part of making those records,” said McGraw on his website (www.timmgraw.com). “But the whole concept is an embarrassment to me as an artist. In the spirit of the election year, I would simply say to my fans, ‘I’m Tim McGraw and I don’t approve their message.’”
Honestly we think that McGraw needs to get over it. Worse things have happened to artists. It seems that Curb felt that McGraw’s status was slipping and in order to boost his popularity in the music industry they needed to release a new album. I suppose they just couldn’t wait for him to finish the new one.
It seems that the new CD that he is making might take a little bit longer with all the work that he has going on right now. McGraw recently co-authored a children’s book called ‘My Little Girl’ – which will be published October 21st.
