Rumor: Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon Have Wed
Mariah Carey’s new video feature Nick Cannon has her lover. The two are dating so it is no surprise to us that she chose him for this part. What does surprise us, are the rumors that the couple have secretly wed or are making plans to.
Several published reports have stated that Cannon – 27 – and Carey – 38 – were married on Wednesday. Both Carey’s and Cannon’s managers and publicists refused to reveal any details. If the two are married than it will be one of the quickest romances that we have seen in a long time. They two were reported to be dating only a few weeks ago.
It was only last week that Carey was photographed wearing a diamond ring on her finger while at the Tribeca Film Festival for the premiere of her movie “Tennessee”. Cannon was by her side the whole time.
Latina.com was first to report that the two were married, at Carey’s home in the Bahamas. Friday’s New York Post also has the pair wed and E! Online quoted a relative of Cannon’s as saying that he called his family and confirmed the news. “He called us and told us all about it. We are happy for him. If that is what he wants then we are happy for him,” Linda Cannon, identified simply as a family member, was quoted telling E!
The ring that Carey was sported wearing came from Jacob & Co. who spent no time spreading their publicity in a press release about the couple’s rumored engagement.
The release described it as “crafted from platinum and features a square emerald cut fancy light pink diamond as the center stone surrounded by 58 intense pink diamonds and two half moon diamonds on each side. “The total carat weight of the ring — center stone is 10 carats — is a jaw-dropping 17 carats with a value of $2.5 million.”
