Slipknot Leads #1 On Billboard Charts
It was very tight this week to see who would make it to the number one spot on the Billboard charts. It was the heavy metal band Slipknot that finally won the spot after a recount. Apparently no one could believe that the masked band would ever reach to new heights.
They managed to push themselves ahead of the rapper The Game - who was in first place during the first count and by a very slim margin. But, after data was reprocessed because of the margin, Slipknot came out top.
All Hope Is Gone, their fourth studio album, is their first to reach the number one spot in the US. Slipknot’s eponymous 1999 debut album reached number 51 while 2001 follow-up Iowa hit number three.
The band first formed in 1995 in their hometown of Des Moines, Iowa. They played live shows where they quickly gained much attention due to the fact that they wore masks and heavy stage make-up while on stage.
